Cambridge Analytica — The AI Apparatus’s First Deployment

In 2014, a company that grew out of psychological warfare experts combined with research work by a Russia-connected researcher at Cambridge University’s Judge Business School, CA began setting up online Facebook Groups. CA focussed on trolling for unsuspecting Internet users who are high on the Neurotic and low on the Conscientiousness dimension of the OCEAN psychological spectrum. When an online group composed of people with that psychological inventory was large enough, Cambridge Analytica brought the group together In Real Life.

Cambridge Analytica as the proof of concept for AI-powered Disinfolklore. The “Russia-connected researcher” detail shows the direct pipeline between Russian intelligence methods and Silicon Valley technology. OCEAN profiling was used to identify psychologically vulnerable individuals and aggregate them into radicalised communities — the “acorn seed” of MAGA.
