Trump’s Eight “They”s
“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists.” Here, again, we see the In-group inside the Inner Realm of America defined — the “you” repeated in the second and third sentences — negatively against an Other out-group / Outer Realm “Mexico.” Then the “they” (meaning “Outer Realm Mexico / Mexicans / Other”) repeated in every sentence, eight times in total.
