Propp’s Work Determining Russia’s Strategy

It is almost as if the great Russian folklore theorist Vladimir Propp’s work is determining Russia’s strategy in Ukraine: steal the sovereignty and security of Ukraine’s Inner Realm by invading and destroying Ukraine’s sustainability through deporting millions of women and children upon whom the future of Ukraine depends, while killing as many Ukrainians as possible, and destroying the food supply.

Russia’s actual military strategy in Ukraine maps precisely onto the three Inner/Outer Realm threat categories (sovereignty-theft, security-destruction, fertility-annihilation through child deportation). Whether consciously or not, Russia’s generals are executing Propp’s morphology as military doctrine.
