Sleeping Beauty — The Apparatus as Slumber-Engine

The Sleeping Beauty tale where an entire kingdom is put into a slumber is a perfect metaphor for what Russian Disinfolklore apparatus, which was perfected in this area, just across the river, across the Donets River, where I worked for three years as one of the few Westerners ever to work in Russia-occupied Ukraine.
