Reverse Napoleon — Day 5
Russia in 🇺🇦 has done a Reverse-Napoleon. Tolstoy brilliantly shows Russian General Kutuzov’s strategy in War & Peace: draw the 🇫🇷 further & further in, so their supply lines are stretched. Napoleon sat in Moscovy waiting for Moscovy to surrender. Never did. French died retreating.

March 1, 2022 — five days into the full-scale invasion. Credible reports from the front indicated Russian forces lacked the technical means even to communicate with their commanders after entering Ukraine. Their encrypted radio systems failed. Supply columns were ambushed on unrecconnoitred roads. Troops did not know where they were going or why.
Tolstoy’s War and Peace had mythologised Russia’s triumph over Napoleon so convincingly that two hundred years later, by invading Ukraine with insufficient force and insufficient Mana to conquer it, Russia performed the same tragedy in reverse. Napoleon sat in Moscow waiting for surrender that never came. Putin’s forces sat in the mud outside Kyiv waiting for nothing. Napoleon’s Grande Armée died retreating from Moscow. Russia’s conscripts were dying before they had advanced past Kyiv.
The archetype predicted what would follow: the failure of the initial offensive, the humiliation of the retreat from northern Ukraine, the transformation of a planned three-day operation into a years-long war of attrition. Russia, enspelled by its own mythology, was performing the wrong role in the story it claimed to own.
This was the method’s first major combat prediction — published five days into the invasion, when the dominant archetype was still “Kyiv falls in 72 hours.” The Reverse Napoleon Rearchetyping demonstrated that archetypal structural reading of open-source data could outperform conventional military intelligence analysis from Day Five of the war.
