Why I Call It Stealth Genocide

This is why I call Russia’s genocide-model in Ukraine “Stealth Genocide.” If I as a lawyer could not recognise the character of the policy Russia was implementing in Ukraine, what hope did non-lawyers who weren’t even in Ukraine have? Yet, now as I look back at everything I witnessed, reported on, and experienced in eastern Ukraine from 2015 onwards, I clearly see how visible the Stealth Genocide was. And yet, I didn’t see it. Russian Disinfolklore was so strong and powerful, it had me looking the other way for seven long years.

The core definition, and the most devastating admission in the entire corpus. An international lawyer — trained to recognise genocide, stationed at the very location where it was being prepared — did not see it for seven years. That is the measure of Disinfolklore’s stealth capability.
