The Foundational Fact

On March 11, 2022, a tank operated by a Ukrainian from the part of Luhansk province that had been occupied by Russia since September 2014 fired at a nursing home in the city of Kreminna. Fifty-six Ukrainian pensioners were killed instantly. These Ukrainian tankers had lived under occupation, been subjected to anti-Ukrainian disinformation for eight years, and were now willing to murder dozens of harmless fellow-Ukrainian pensioners with a single shot.

Verified by the Washington Post, Kyiv Independent, and Ukrinform. 71 patients were inside the nursing home; 56 died instantly. But the nursing home was only part of the story. GUR intercepts published by Ukrainian intelligence record a Russian serviceman: “WE HAVE MACHINE GUNNERS, HOW LET’S MOW EVERYTHING, F**K: THE CHILDREN THERE, BAB, MEN, LOCAL, NOT LOCAL, JUST MOWED EVERYTHING.” At least 400 native Russian-language speaking Ukrainians were killed in Kreminna in one day.

The tankers and soldiers were native Ukrainians — not Russians — who had been radicalised by eight years of anti-Ukrainian Disinfolklore in Russia-occupied territory. First they dehumanise using Stealth Genocide anti-Ukrainian Disinfolklore. Then they murder and kill. This is what Disinfolklore achieves at its worst: citizens weaponised against their own community. “I know Kreminna quite well. Went there a lot, while living in its sister city Severodonetsk.”
