Negative Trolling

Emotion-moving activity that fails any element of the Code of Positive Trolls. If a meme breaches even one of the six criteria — Generosity, Ethical Discipline, Patience, Mana/Energy, Mindfulness/Focus, or Insight/Wisdom — it is Negative. Negative Trolling is the mechanism through which Disinfolklore operates. Its output is the manipulation of your Moods, Intentions, Attitudes, and Motivations.

The Diagnostic Shortcut

Usually, Disinfolklore (Negative Trolling) violates the second criterion — it is NOT ethically disciplined. It’s a lie. That is its Mana.

They’re almost always Negative Trolling — they lie a lot, and so fail especially the second limb in the six tests — ethical discipline.

Most Negative Trolling fails at Criterion 2 (Ethical Discipline): it’s a lie. But the Generosity test is even faster — “authoritarian-minded trolls are almost always mean.” If a meme is Ungenerous, it is almost certainly Negative.

Negative Trolling Kills

The Russian soldiers who participated in the unlawful invasion of Ukraine, their families supporting them and those who died were trying to rescue Ukrainians from an entirely bogus scenario. They believed so deeply in the truthiness of such Disinfolklore that they were willing to sacrifice their lives on the altar of such a troll.

It’s not just those who die after injecting bleach or taking anti-parasite drugs to cure themselves of Covid when Druidey Don tells them to who can become victims of a Disinfolklore Galaxy. 150m Russians, too, have fallen prey to a Disinfolklore Galaxy’s diktats, and many have perished as a result of its trolls.

Negative Trolling is not trivial. It is the lethal payload of Disinfolklore — the information weapon that sends soldiers to die for a bogus cause and civilians to drink bleach. Russian Disinfolklore never manifests the six criteria simultaneously: it is structurally incapable of generosity, ethical discipline, patience, and wisdom at once.

We Become the Negative Troll

When you share an image of Russian or Donald Disinfolklore, you’re falling for the troll. You’re helping them build their Disinfolklore Universe.

By the time we get that our Mana / energy has been hacked by a Negative Troll’s emotion-moving activity, it might be too late. We might have risen to the bait.

The most insidious feature: when we share a Negative Troll, we become its vehicle. The troll consumes us. This is why the Outgoing Troll Radar is as important as the Incoming one.
