Credibility and Lost Mythos

To work, War Magic must be credible.

World has seen how useless Muscovy’s military is.

It’s lost its mythos.

This three-line passage states War Magic’s single point of failure. War Magic depends entirely on credibility — the audience must believe the spell can be enforced. When Russia’s military was exposed as incompetent in Ukraine, the mythos collapsed. Nuclear threats lose their power when the conventional army cannot hold a highway. This is the author’s most compressed statement of how to defeat War Magic: expose the gap between the rhetoric and the reality, and the spell breaks.
