Vaccine Fear as Medieval Incantation

Immanent in that Deeply Dippy guy’s equivalence of the vaccine and holocaust is a deep fear of the virus. In the obsession with minimising the virus is evidence/proof of a mediaeval fear of the virus - they won’t even mention it, as if it is a spell or incantation that in itself infects one. They’re hiding the fear from themselves.

A psychologically acute observation that inverts the surface reading of anti-vaccine rhetoric. The author argues that obsessive virus minimisation is not fearlessness but concealed medieval terror — the refusal even to name the virus operates like a superstitious incantation, as if speaking the word could cause infection. This is War Magic turned inward: the spell the anti-vaxxer casts on themselves to manage their own fear, projecting it outward as equivalence with the Holocaust. The passage reveals how War Magic operates not just between adversaries but within the mind of the afflicted.
