The Computer Folder

At the time I discovered the Disinfolklore narrative form immanent in the most effective disinformation, misinformation and manipulative propaganda, I had been looking for a simple means of articulating the totality of what I had found since I began researching Russia’s information warfare strategies and Druidey Don Disinfolklore the Shaman Trickster Trump’s trolling techniques in 2015. The folder on my computer which I used as a library for the (by 2023) thousands of texts I had studied on Russian disinformation, trolling and trolls was called “Folklore.” When, around February 13, 2023, I suddenly saw how the term “Disinfo” melded with “folklore” I knew immediately I had the perfect signifier for the narrative form that I had already noticed was common to Russian combat propaganda and Trumpian memetic warfare techniques. Soon afterwards I also understood that Disinfolklore was a great moniker for the twelve-tool analytical method that by 2023 I had developed in the field to parse disinformation.
