The First and Most Intuitive Test

The generosity one is… That’s why it’s number one. Because many of us… All of us have a sense of what’s generous and what isn’t. When we’re not being generous, we kind of know about it. And we made a decision not to be… Perhaps we’ve got to save money and we’ve got to look after ourselves and our family. But we know that we’re not giving money to, for instance, the beggar on the street. We know we’re not being generous to our friend who’s clearly distraught and we just don’t have time to talk to them. So it’s an intuitive sense.

Generosity is first because it is intuitive. We all already know the difference. We make generosity judgements dozens of times a day — with our time, our attention, our money, our empathy. The Code simply asks you to apply that existing intuition to the memes entering your mind.
