How do you determine whether something is proper sort of in war? And for me, the ethical discipline, what’s right is defined by international law, by the Geneva Conventions. And none of us, I think, or most of us wouldn’t approve of any willful flouting of the Geneva Conventions, which came in after the war with the Nazis. And so that’s what sets the ethical discipline.

What unites self-declared “Conservatives Traditionalists” like American MAGA, English Brexiteers, Oligarchs, Anti-Woke, and Ruschists? They all want to destroy the post-WWII legal architecture, including explicit commitments in domestic/municipal law to honour the supremacy of international law over municipal/national law.

The standard is not subjective. It is the Geneva Conventions, the UN Charter, the Refugee Convention, the Genocide Convention, the European Convention on Human Rights. What unites all Disinfolklorists — MAGA, Brexit, Ruschism — is the desire to destroy this legal architecture.
