Accusation in a Mirror
‘Accusation in a Mirror’ is common to virtually every genocide: the perpetrator accuses the Other (the victim) of the very behaviour the perpetrator is planning or executing. This then justifies the perpetrators’ actions. ‘Mirror, mirror on the wall…’ is the main reservoir for the content of Russian genocide-justifying disinformation.

Accusation in a Mirror is the primary Ethical Discipline violation in Disinfolklore. Russia accuses Ukraine of genocide while committing genocide. Trump accuses opponents of what he himself does. The technique is common to “virtually every genocide” — it is the rhetorical prerequisite for mass violence. See Spectacle.
