The Original Discovery: Mother and Maiden in the Woods

Something, intuitively, sounded artificial about the linguistic formula “common law wife and her underage daughter.” Working in that Steppe-land Locus Amoenus, I had already realised that I perceive part of reality through cognitive lenses (archetypes) that had entered my mind as a small child from folktale-inspired stories. Here, Russian Disinfolklorists were leaning into this aspect of Indo-Europeans’ cognition and riffing off what Karl Jung suggested are the primordial archetypal identities of the Mother and the Maiden. The perfectly pitched troll for a specific emotional reaction in protective males who would undergo any ordeal to rescue from an ogre such damsels in distress stirred my suspicion.

It was as if someone had a manual containing all of the primordial archetypes and they had constructed the story to ensure it contained these elements. In that moment, (though I did not know it then), I had discovered how Russia and MAGA purposely and purposefully reverse-engineer tales with faery and folk-tale like emotional resonances as a means of hacking minds.

This is the moment Tool 9 was born. On the bridge in eastern Ukraine, a troll about a “common law wife and underage daughter” activated the Mother/Maiden archetype — and the author perceived the machinery. It was “as if someone had a manual.” That manual is the stock of Indo-European archetypes, and Russia had reverse-engineered it.
