Speed of Emotional Transformation
The means by which we exchange moods, motivations, emotions and intentions through almost all forms of communication (literally, a ‘comingling of our Mana’ (muni)) can seem magical. It is enchanting. With the help of the Dalai Lama / Ekman ‘timeline of emotions’ cognitive model which I will introduce in the next chapter, though, we can perceive this passing between us of moods / motivations / intentions / Mana / emotions / energy as being quite mechanical. It just happens so fast that we are not aware of all the stages we go through while our minds are transformed from one state to another by Disinfolklore.

The speed argument. MIMA exchange seems magical because it happens faster than conscious awareness. The Dalai Lama / Ekman model reveals the mechanics beneath the magic: Trigger, Experience, Reaction are discrete stages, but they cascade so rapidly that we experience only the result — a transformed mood — never the process. TER slows the process down enough to see each stage. The word ‘muni’ (communication as Mana-comingling) anchors this in the M-N etymological chain.
