Mannus (Germanic)

In their ancient ballads, their only form of recorded history, they celebrate Tuisto, a god sprung from the earth, and his son Mannus, as the founders of their race. — Tacitus, Germania (98 CE)

Mannus is the founding ancestor of all Germanic peoples according to Tacitus. His three sons founded the three Germanic tribal groups: Ingaevones, Herminones, and Istaevones. The M-N sound connects Germanic Mannus to Indian Manu — same sound, same founding-monarch function, same position in the cosmic genealogy.
