Detection Tools (1-5)
The first five tools are your perceptual instruments. Before you can judge whether a meme is Disinfolklore, you must learn to see it — to recognise its components, feel its energy, and trace its emotional trajectory. Detection is the foundation. Without it, the Bridge and Adjudication tools have nothing to work with.
Disinfolklore is the first universal method for identifying, countering, and withstanding information manipulations.

The Five Detection Tools
-
Tool 1: Archetypal Disinfolklore Literacy — Learn to recognise the primordial characters (Mother, Maiden, Trickster, Bogeyman) that Disinfolklore weaponises. The foundational skill.
-
Outgoing Troll Radars — Switch on your scanners. The Incoming Radar detects trolls entering your mind; the Outgoing Radar checks what you transmit. Both must be “always on.”
-
Tool 3: Look for the Mana in the Meme — Every meme carries energy (Mana). This tool asks: what is the quality of that energy? Positive, negative, or neutral?
-
Outer Realm Switching — Disinfolklore blurs the boundary between your Inner Mind and the Outer Realm. This tool maps how memes cross that border and where the breach occurs.
-
Tool 5: Trigger, Experience, Reaction — The emotional timeline. Every manipulation follows a sequence: a Trigger provokes an Experience (emotion), which produces a Reaction. Tracing the sequence exposes the design.
How Detection Works
Detection is sequential but can be applied in any order. In practice, most people notice the energy first (Tool 3), then trace the archetype (Tool 1), then check their radars (Tool 2). Tools 4 and 5 provide the structural analysis — where the breach is (Inner/Outer) and how the emotional manipulation unfolded (TER).
Once you can detect Disinfolklore, you are ready for the Code of Positive Trolls — the measuring instrument that connects Detection to Adjudication.
Where Next?
- Tool 6: Code of Positive Trolls — the bridge between Detection and Adjudication
- Adjudication Tools (7-12) — apply the Code’s six criteria as deep-analysis instruments
- Mana — the energy every meme carries; what Detection teaches you to feel
